JOB Vacancy: HEAD COACH

Position: West Coast Heartland Coach 2026. 

Closing Date: 6th February at 5.00pm 

The WCRU invites applications for the position of Head Coach of the West Coast Heartland rugby team for 2026. 

This is an opportunity to enhance the development and further success of West Coast rugby. 

The successful applicant will oversee the Heartland squad and management team, while fostering strong relationships with Club Coaches and Players to ensure alignment, share knowledge, and support player development throughout the region. 

We are looking for a coach who can inspire, connect, and develop people - someone who values teamwork, communication, and community as much as on-field performance. 

Our key attributes a successful candidate will need to demonstrate are; 

● Proven coaching experience at a senior level, (provincial, club or professional), 

● A proven track record in creating a winning culture, 

● An affinity to the region and its people, 

● An understanding of what is required to compete at a national level. 

● Demonstrate an ability to lead, inspire and manage diverse teams 

● Expertise in game analysis and player development 

● Provide consistent communication and inter personal skills to players, coaching and support staff to align with the team goals.
